35 kilometres away from the Capital of the province is Tossa del Mar, villa of Roman origin, linked for several centuries to Ripoll's Monastery.
25 kilometres away Guixols's Sant Feliu appears, located in the low Ampurdan, in a geographical environment full of contrasts and nature. A popular visit in this place has to be the Monastery of Rodes's Sant Peres, an example of the Romanesque architecture, and one of the best preserved of Europe.
Another place would be Palamós with his auction of fish in The Pösito of the Fishermen. Also you will be able to enjoy the walks along his paved streets or of the lunch in his taverns and restaurants.
Maybe one of the most beautiful places of the Costa Brava is El'Startit (Big Tower). With exits to the rocky sea and under the protection of a beautiful mountainous and rough environment, beaten by the waves.

Also there are a variety of small places called "street markets" which offer different varieties of objects, like food (cheeses, sausages, conserves, vegetables etc.), beautiful crafts ….
The gastronomy of the Costa Brava is based principally on the Mediterranean gastronomy, a rich diet on meat and fish flavoured by vegetables. The sea and the mountain provide the spices necessary for an excellent diet.
